Foundations of Management Programme

We have developed a customised management program that has enabled our client Citic Pacific Mining to create an understanding and application of management principles within their workplace. The program has been specifically designed to link management skills and practice to defined job profiles created by the client.

These job profiles detail the work activities and competencies required at each level of management across the business. The predetermined management content was then mapped against the national competencies required for the Certificate IV in Frontline Management. This approach allows for the individual manager to understand their job in detail and while doing their job, acquire a qualification at the end of the program.

By performing their job competently and attending training on the job and in the workplace it has allowed a move away from traditional theoretical learning to more practical applications of the process of management. The content has been structured and aligned to meet the client’s internal processes and procedures and the program is modular in format delivered by a range of internal and external specialists who cooperate in the training and the assessment.

All course work, assignments and practical case studies have been developed to relate to the direct work being managed by the client. This allows for generic management content to be mixed with specific internal content in a flexible approach to learning. This allows the program to be tailored to suit the client’s requirements.

The program is called Foundations of Management and is based around exactly that, the basic requirement and fundamentals of frontline management.
